Elizabeth Hewitt Gibson

Director of Philanthropy

Elizabeth was introduced to the TERI Campus of Life by close friend Adin Boyer at a performance in the Fall of 2023.  She was impressed by TERI’s vision and potential and joined our team in August of 2024.  Elizabeth has lived in North County San Diego for more than 30 years and has strong corporate, government and academic connections both here and throughout California. For the past two decades she has worked for and consulted with leading organizations like LHH, UCSD, Skillsoft and Sony Electronics on workforce development, career transitions, leadership development, change management, brand development and strategic organizational growth projects.

Prior to joining TERI, Elizabeth was the VP of Marketing, Programs and Talent for the California Life Sciences Association, a statewide non-profit supporting life sciences organizations of all types and sizes throughout California. She developed innovative sponsorship programs, chaired topical advisory boards, ran the annual Pantheon Awards (a 700-person gala often dubbed the “Oscars” of life sciences), and developed and administered the Giants of Science grant program to reward innovative high school science departments. She is also a past board member for San Diego Second Chance, a nonprofit with a mission to secure employment and housing for individuals challenged by choices and circumstances. Her passion for organizations whose work positively impacts the lives of real people lead directly to her interest in and commitment to TERI.

As a Philanthropy Director, Elizabeth’s focus will be engaging the community – donors, organizations and strategic partners – to support the Campus of Life Campaign as well as the restoration of the 1880’s Merriam House and its integration into TERI’s mission of changing the way the world sees, helps and empowers neurodiverse and special needs individuals.
