About the Event
John, the lead singer, plays guitar, banjo, and mandolin. Jim provides backing vocals and plays guitars, banjo, mandolin, and intermittent harmonica. Tom is on upright bass, while Carol contributes complementary rhythm on antique washboards, with occasional cowbell and other percussion.
The band plays bluegrass, blending in elements of folk, rock, Americana, and country. Together, they boast nearly 200 years of musical experience, if one isn't too particular about precise mathematics. Among them are a music producer, a couple of songwriters (one whose music is played in elevators in over 70 countries!), a skilled bass player, and a personable woman with a washboard and other percussive instruments. Each member sings, or at least tries to, and with an open mind, their music creates a joyful noise.
